The devastating earthquakes on 6 February have left at least 21,000 dead and the death toll continues to increase as thousands of people remain trapped under collapsed buildings. Tens of thousands are wounded and millions of people are left homeless.

In the areas hit by the earthquakes, IndustriALL Global and European Trade Union affiliates have members in the manufacturing, energy, and mining sectors. We are receiving reports indicating that many unions have members that have been killed, or have lost members of their families.

The facilities of some of our affiliated unions in the affected region have been seriously damaged.
