Consultation - Nanotechnology & Nanomaterials

Further to the position of industriAll European Union on the REACH Review adopted by the Executive Committee on 12-13 June 2013, as decided by the Industrial Policy Committee, a follow-up draft position has now been developed on the issue of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

The purpose of this position is to give a trade union view on nanotechnology and nanomaterials from the perspective of workers in the chemical sector and downstream user industries. It was developed with help the ad hoc working group set up by the Chemicals and Basic Materials Committee on 3 September 2013 which was specifically tasked to assist the Secretariat in preparing this document.

Should amendments be submitted, these will be forwarded to the ad hoc working group and the SWP of the Industrial Policy Committee for guidance. Their recommendations on this subject will be communicated to the Industrial Policy Committee ahead of its meeting on 5-6 November, where a discussion will take place and a final decision will be made. Please be aware that if you fail to reply by the above deadline, the industriAll Europe Secretariat will consider that you agree with the proposed text.
